I rented a C-Clanp style ball-joint press from my local autoparts store to press the old lower control arm bushings out. I'm using a 2-ton three jaw puller with the puller's hooks around the bushing's"hat", and the puller's screw pressing on the control arm's swivel shaft (the shaft Estimated Reading Time: 4 mins. Aug 22, On both sides of the arm you will see a cup (so to speak).
They hold the bushing into the arm.
It has a small lip around it. Use a prybar or long screwdriver to pry that cup out of the control arm. Might want to spray it with some lubricant if they are pretty stubborn. Once you get those out, take a torch and burn up most of the old rubber shrubremoval.buzzted Reading Time: 2 mins.

I tried heating the arms with a torch, and pounding on the bushing with a hammer and chisel. I've searched around, and haven't found a DIY on how to do it.
